Chapter 886 - 883: Finally, I Waited for You (8)
Then...Kris Cooper squinted at the screen, staring at the map. Where could it be?!
Zooming in on the map, he slowly moved the mouse, focusing on the names of the neighborhoods.
As he noticed one of the neighborhoods pass by, Kris Cooper’s eyebrows suddenly perked up.
Peng Cheng Apartment?
Right, Irene Spencer should still have an apartment here.
Peng Cheng Apartment was Ashton’s project. Initially, when collaborating with Irene Spencer, he had lived here for a while, and Irene Spencer expressed her fondness for the place, asking him to help purchase a unit.
This apartment was selling like hotcakes. At the time, there weren’t any desirable layouts left because it was slightly far from the company. Kris Cooper was considering moving out himself, noticing how much she liked it, he decided to give this apartment to her as a reward for an event back then.
The key was handed to Irene Spencer, but she never completed the transfer procedures.
Kris Cooper never paid much attention to matters like these, always busy, and this issue was tossed to the back of his mind. It was only seeing the neighborhood’s name now that reminded him of it.
This apartment is only a thirty-minute drive from Houhai, perfectly situated between Houhai and Nathan Leafcastle’s villa. Could Irene Spencer have brought Grandma Wave here?
Not entirely sure, Kris Cooper still got up from his chair. He strode out of the study room, returned to the bedroom to check on Vera Wave to make sure she was still asleep, then quietly went downstairs. After informing his grandfather, he quickly drove towards Peng Cheng Apartment.
Half an hour later, his car had already driven through the gates of Peng Cheng Apartment, arriving below Building 29.
The property manager had already received the message, and upon seeing him, immediately jogged over.
Behind him followed a middle-aged man.
"Mr. Cooper, this is the locksmith."
Kris Cooper acknowledged with a nod, and strode up the steps. The property manager quickly swiped his card to open the access control, leading the three of them, including the locksmith, into the elevator to the top floor.
Exiting the elevator, arriving in front of his apartment door, Kris Cooper immediately nodded his chin towards the door.
"Open it!"
The locksmith stepped forward, took out his tools, and began picking the lock.
He turned and walked aside, knocked on the neighbor’s door, and asked if they had seen anyone enter. Both neighbors shook their heads, saying they hadn’t seen anything.
"Mr. Cooper!"
The property manager’s voice rose, and Kris Cooper turned his face to see the tightly shut security door already opened, and the locksmith was pushing open the wooden door inside.
He rushed over, turning on the main light inside the door.
The light came on, illuminating the foyer and living room.
The living room was empty.
He charged into the master bedroom, nothing.
The secondary bedroom, nothing.
The study room, nothing.
...
Everywhere was devoid of people, he even rummaged through the dressing room and cabinets, but found no one.
Throwing aside the pulled-down curtains, Kris Cooper walked out the door, dejected. The property manager quickly caught up.
"Mr. Cooper..." Kris Cooper glanced sideways, meeting his gaze with murderous eyes. The property manager swallowed in fear, helping him press the elevator button, "Please don’t be angry, I’m just here to press the elevator for you."
Kris Cooper turned away, stepped into the elevator, reaching out to press the button for the 1st floor, but noticing the B2 button above, he suddenly remembered something.
"Quick, get the locksmith and come with me to the basement!"
If it weren’t for seeing the basement floor button, he might have forgotten that every resident has a pretty sizeable basement to store unused items.
The locksmith ran over, and the three of them took the elevator to the basement.
...
...
Goodnight
