Chapter 26 You've done the duty of a beast!
"???"
Thorne, who had never thought that language could be so beautiful, felt his mind go blank for a moment.
After a moment of silence, he tilted his head and looked at Raymond again, asking, "Huh?"
Seeing that Thorne's reaction was a bit off, Raymond figured he must not have heard what he just said, so he repeated himself: "I said, I happen to know a very good slave trader. Let's sell your people and run away."
This time, I heard Thorne clearly, and for some reason, I felt as if a knot in my head had been suddenly untied.
His expression also became more cheerful; his mouth tucked into small lips, his eyes widened, and he stared at Raymond in shock.
It can be said that he was just as shocked by Raymond before.
Actually, he didn't know what kind of thinking Raymond used to say such nonsense, but he seemed to be conveying some kind of message to him.
Where is my stone sword?
Thorne was so shocked by Raymond's words that he stood up from his workbench and walked around the room several times before his bewildered mind finally came back to normal. He belatedly realized that there were no weapons in the room.
Seeing Thorne's strange expression, Raymond instinctively asked, "What are you doing?"
Thorne, being straightforward and not mincing words, replied instinctively, "I'm looking for a weapon to kill you. Wait a moment."
It has to be said that Raymond is, in a sense, a true old hand, a seasoned veteran.
Most people would be stunned for a second or two upon hearing someone who was just talking to them like a brother and discussing cooperation one minute, and then suddenly frantically running around the room looking for a weapon to kill them the next.
But Raymond didn't hesitate for a moment. The instant he heard Thorne's slightest hint of hostility towards him, he reacted immediately.
As a very thin thread tied to his little finger was pulled, the dagger, which was fixed to the inside of his wrist by a spring, sprang out with a clang and was grasped in his hand. Without the slightest hesitation, he thrust it straight toward Thorne's waist.
As a ruthless thief, Raymond has extensive experience in killing.
Of course, one cannot kill the alchemist before them.
He was also very good at how to incapacitate a person without causing fatal injury.
The muscles on both sides of the waist do not have ribs. After being stabbed, one cannot straighten up and can only curl up in pain. One only needs to control the movement slightly to avoid damaging the internal organs and major blood vessels.
As the sharp blade pierced through flesh, a crisp "plop" sound was heard, and Raymond felt that his mission was incredibly easy.
What's that saying again? Let your mind wander, and you'll suddenly feel the vastness of the world. As long as you choose not to use your brain and just take action, no task will be difficult for you.
Next, all I need to do is cripple that mechanical church nun, and then wipe out everyone in the village. That will complete the mission perfectly.
As he pulled the dagger from Thorne's body and was about to continue his actions, he suddenly realized that something was wrong.
Instead of collapsing to the ground with a limp body or screaming and curling up, Thorne looked at him and suddenly revealed a self-deprecating smile.
Just as Raymond was about to ask him what he was laughing about, he suddenly realized something was wrong, something was very, very wrong.
"You want to ask me why I suddenly laughed, right?" Thorne asked, his expression suddenly turning extremely serious after he finished laughing.
Raymond swallowed hard, as if he had just realized something: "What I want to ask is, why are you completely unharmed?"
"I'm not unharmed. Your attack was successful; you did stab me. However, I only need to slightly tighten my external oblique muscles to achieve the same effect as applying pressure to the wound and stop the bleeding."
"As for why I suddenly started laughing?"
Raymond stared blankly at Thorne, who was getting further and further away from humans. He was a little confused. Was that something a human could do?
However, Raymond quickly regained his senses and had a bad feeling. He immediately answered Thorne's question: "I didn't ask that question!"
"You've made me so angry I'm confused. Seriously, I was just wandering around the house like an idiot until you stabbed me with that knife. That's when I realized what was wrong. You've done what a beast does."
As Thorne spoke faster and faster, his tone became increasingly strange, and the atmosphere grew more and more oppressive, Raymond finally realized that something was wrong, and this time he no longer held back.
The dagger flew from his hand and stabbed straight towards Thorne's chest. This time, he wasn't aiming to subdue Thorne, but rather to kill him.
With another soft thud, the dagger struck Thorne squarely in the left side of his chest, near his heart. However, embarrassingly, it only penetrated less than a fifth of the blade before stopping abruptly. Raymond stared in disbelief; that spot shouldn't have been blocked by his ribs.
"Didn't I tell you? All you need to do is tense your muscles."
As Thorne spoke, he pulled the dagger from his chest, crumpled it into a ball, and tossed it on the ground. Raymond realized the problem.
Although Thorne still showed no intention of attacking him, the two wounds on his body, where muscles were taut and no blood could flow, and the dagger on the ground, which was being forcibly crumpled into a ball, were already conveying a certain message to him.
At this point, he knew he had to stall for time.
"What was the problem you just mentioned, the problem you realized?" Raymond asked immediately, trying to buy as much time as possible.
Thorne did not refuse, stating directly, "The problem I realize is that I don't need weapons."
As Thorne finished speaking, Raymond felt his hair stand on end, and a chill ran from his tailbone straight up to the top of his head.
The next moment, Thorne took a big step and almost instantly stepped in front of him. After all, the room was so small that there was no room to move around, so Raymond, the assassin, was instantly brought close.
Immediately following was the whistling wind of the punch, which made him feel as if the air in front of him had been shattered, and a suffocating feeling came over him. Then came the wind pressure that stung his skin all over.
All of this happened much faster than he could react, so much so that before he could fully process what was happening, Thorne's fist had already slammed into his chest.
A piercing sound of bones cracking suddenly rang out. Just as Thorne used his fists to hammer wood into planks, Raymond's ribs crumbled into fragments inch by inch.
Finally, a figure crashed through the wall of Thorne's room from the inside out and flew out, startling the villagers who had been eavesdropping around the room. Only then did Thorne come out to check if Raymond was really dead, and then...
"What are you all doing gathered here?"
