Chapter 40 The Search
Chapter 40 The Search
Picking up the letter on the table, Li Lianhua activated the defense mechanism as she left Lotus Pavilion. She then used the "Walking Step" technique, stepping on a dragon, and appeared in front of Abbot Wule's meditation room in less than a quarter of an hour.
Looking at Li Lianhua who had returned, Wu Liao was quite puzzled: "What brings Benefactor Li here in the dead of night? I wonder if Benefactor Wu's matter has been resolved?"
"Sigh, don't even mention it. Wu You isn't at the Lotus Pavilion down the mountain, and I don't know where he's gone," Li Lianhua sighed. Her internal energy hadn't recovered yet, and running so fast was still tiring.
"Didn't Benefactor Li say before that he was going to search the shores of the East Sea? Why hasn't he gone yet? What business does he have with this old monk?" Wu Liao thought of what Li Lianhua had said before he left.
Li Lianhua handed over the letter: "She left a letter, but I don't know where it went. There are some things in it that I don't understand, so I came to ask if you can understand them?"
Wu Liao took the letter and read it. After a moment, he returned the letter to Li Lianhua: "When I met Benefactor Wu before, I couldn't see through her fate. Now, seeing her words, I can only guess a little."
Li Lianhua asked anxiously, "What are your two guesses? Tell me quickly."
Wu poured Li Lianhua a cup of tea to help him calm down, gave him a "don't be impatient" look, and then slowly explained.
"I have studied Buddhism for a long time and have some knowledge of fortune telling. For ordinary people, I can know about 50% of their fate, that is, 50% is determined and 50% is not determined."
“I can also judge someone like Benefactor Li to some extent. Just over a year ago, Pudu Temple was so far from the coast of the East China Sea, so why did I bring back Benefactor Li who had fainted from there?”
"It was because I foresaw that Benefactor Li was on the verge of death in the East China Sea battle that I rushed over to see if I could save him. I couldn't stop the East China Sea battle, but all I could do was save Benefactor Li's life."
But as for Benefactor Wu, this old monk cannot fathom even a fraction of it?
“I encountered a similar situation when I was young, but I never saw him again. I even wondered if I hadn’t studied Buddhism well enough. It wasn’t until I met Mr. Wu again that I realized that some people cannot fathom the workings of destiny.”
"Monk, you've said so much, but you still haven't gotten to the point. I want to ask where Wu You went?" Li Lianhua had been listening for a long time, and although she didn't quite understand, she still hadn't heard where Wu You had gone.
"After reading Benefactor Wu's letter, this old monk guesses that perhaps they are not people of this world, but come from another world. As for whether this is true or not, this old monk does not know too much."
Li Lianhua summarized Abbot Wule's words: "You mean it's possible that Wu You suddenly appeared in this world from another world, and now suddenly disappeared back to his original world, right?"
"This old monk is only making a guess."
"How is that possible? Where are the other worlds? How do we get there?"
"Whether it's true or false, this old monk doesn't know either. As for the rest, I know nothing. Benefactor Li, you should go and see for yourself on the shores of the East China Sea."
Li Lianhua stood up to take her leave: "You're right, I still need to go to the coast of the East China Sea to see. What you said may not be true. Maybe she went back there."
"If it's true, I don't know where she'll be next time she comes. I need to find her; her skills won't even last a few moves against someone else."
............
Li Lianhua returned to her small courtyard on the shore of the East China Sea, where she lived alone for three months. Later, she recalled her last parting with Wu You, and the question Wu You had asked her.
Li Lianhua remembers answering, "If I really get better, I should travel around and mind my own business."
Li Lianhua made some wooden basins and placed them below the Lotus Pavilion. She then transplanted unripe vegetables from the ground into the wooden basins, and rode the Lotus Pavilion, practicing medicine while heading towards various scenic mountains and rivers.
I only wish that, somewhere, at what moment, I might see that elusive figure again.
.................................................. ........................
Since returning to the modern world, Wu You has never told anyone except her brother Wu Lu about her trip to the Lotus Pavilion world. She simply went to university as usual and has continued to study what she learned there.
However, when Wu You was practicing martial arts, her brother saw her and found it very interesting, insisting that she teach him. Wu You couldn't refuse, so she could only teach a disciple with her own untrained skills.
However, when others spoke about it later, they clarified that it was for health and fitness, not actual martial arts. Wu You never intended to establish a school of martial arts with his mediocre skills.
Four years of university life in a technologically advanced modern society once made Wu You feel that it was just a dream, and when she woke up, everything vanished like a dream bubble.
Only when I'm alone do I watch the TV series Lotus Tower repeatedly, thinking of that person who shines like the sun in the sky.
Even though her brother bought a house near Wu You's school, Wu You would still return to her old family home to live during both winter and summer vacations. She would also consciously or unconsciously accumulate things there.
Wu Lü had seen it and said twice that seeing her again was useless, so he stopped paying attention. Wu Lü knew that his sister hadn't come out of that situation yet, but being able to see her again was truly a blessing from heaven.
In fact, Wu You mostly felt that it was just a big dream, and never thought about whether he would travel through time again.
The day Wu You graduated from university was marked by a sudden downpour. The day before, the temperature had been over 30 degrees Celsius, and the sun was blazing. No one could have imagined the difference that rainstorm would bring, including Wu You. Everyone simply assumed it was just another sudden change in summer weather.
After attending her school's graduation ceremony, Wu You left her luggage at the house her brother had bought near the school. She then took a taxi, carrying her graduation certificate, and returned to the old house.
I simply cooked a bowl of noodles, then collapsed onto the sofa. Listening to the pattering rain outside, I drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up, I had no idea how much time had passed. I took out my phone and checked the time, and I was surprised to find that I had slept for three hours.
The rain was still pouring down outside; it had been so long, and there was no sign of it stopping. Wu You wondered why her brother hadn't returned yet; it was long past his workday.
She tried calling to ask where he was and whether he should come back. But the call wouldn't go through and there was no signal. Wu You didn't think much of it, assuming it was because the rain was too heavy and affecting the signal.
Not knowing that her brother hadn't brought an umbrella either, Wu You grabbed two umbrellas and prepared to wait for him at the bus stop, where there should be a signal. She planned to call him and ask where he was once she got there.
However, when Wu You walked for ten minutes to reach the bus stop, what she saw was not the bus stop bustling with people every day, but a lush green grass. The rain had stopped, and in the distance was a verdant forest. The morning sunlight shone through the leaves, leaving dappled light and shadow.
It was that same dreamlike feeling again. Wu You didn't know if it was a dream, an illusion, or reality. She wandered aimlessly along the path, past the bushes, until she reached the foot of the trees.

Author's Little Theater
Waaaaah, poor Huahua, she's been searching for someone else the whole time. But thankfully she doesn't have to suffer from the poison of the green tea and is in good health. She can just treat it as a trip to enjoy the scenery, and maybe find someone along the way, or something to do to pass the time.
I didn't want to write it this way, but I just ended up here and can't change it now.
Please forgive the author; I will try my best to follow everyone's opinions.
