Chapter 28 My wish is world peace.
Chapter 28 My wish is world peace.
To prevent Granny Wei from saying anything more mushy, Su Mowan quickly got up and followed her.
Upon arriving outside the Fenghua Palace, I heard a shout from behind me.
"Sister Su! Wait for me!"
Turning around, I saw Shen Muyue walking briskly towards me, panting heavily.
Turning her head, she saw Caiwei carrying a small, exquisite food box.
Su Mowan narrowed her eyes.
Shen Muyue smiled and said, "What a coincidence, Sister Su! Are you here to see the Prince too?"
"If I had known that Consort Shen was coming, I definitely wouldn't have come."
Su Mowan glanced at the three of them, master and servants, and didn't quite understand how they could smile at her so casually when they were about to become mortal enemies.
Shen Muyue's smile froze slightly.
"What are you saying, Sister Su? Are you still upset with your older sister for what she just said? I only misspoke, please don't take it to heart."
Su Mo glanced at Shen Muyue again that evening: "Since Consort Shen is here, I won't go."
As he spoke, he took two steps back, gesturing for Feng Yue to lead Shen Muyue inside first.
Feng Yue frowned, looking troubled.
“Consort Su… His Highness wants to see you, not Consort Shen.”
Upon hearing this, Shen Muyue's face froze completely.
"Commander Feng, what do you mean by that?!"
Feng Yue took a half step back: "Please forgive me, Consort Shen, this is the Prince's order."
Shen Muyue immediately felt she had lost face: "What kind of talk is this, Commander Feng? Does it mean that Sister Su can see the Prince, but I, the Princess Consort, cannot? What kind of logic is that!"
Su Mowan couldn't help but chuckle, her voice neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for Shen Muyue to hear.
"Is this what the legendary 'sticky candy' looks like? It's so hard to shake off."
Shen Muyue's face turned red and then white, and she stared wide-eyed, choked with spit.
Caiwei quietly leaned forward and whispered, "Miss, this lotus seed cake won't be good if it gets cold."
Shen Muyue seemed to only then remember the box of lotus seed cakes, and hurriedly snatched the box, forcing a smile at Feng Yue: "Commander Feng, please do me a favor and go in to tell the Prince that I made some pastries and would like to invite the Prince to try them!"
Feng Yue frowned, a hint of hesitation in his eyes.
Su Mowan suddenly laughed: "Commander Feng, why don't you go in and say something? It won't take much time anyway, and we can't let Consort Shen make a wasted trip, can we?"
Shen Muyue frowned.
"I don't need your fake kindness!"
Caiwei steeled herself and tugged at her sleeve, but Shen Muyue slapped it away impatiently: "Why are you pulling me? What can she do to me in front of Fenghua Palace?"
After saying that, she rolled her eyes at Su Mowan in a defiant manner.
Su Mowan couldn't be bothered with her at all.
A short while later, Feng Yue came out.
Shen Muyue quickly put on a happy expression: "How about the appointment of a commander? Does Your Highness mean I can go in?"
Feng Yue remained expressionless.
"His Highness said that Consort Shen should leave the pastries behind so that you can go back and have your meal first."
Shen Muyue tightened her grip on the food box: "Did His Highness really say that?"
“Yes,” Feng Yue paused, then said, “His Highness also said that he doesn’t like lotus seed cake.”
"..."
Shen Muyue's face was burning!
She forced a smile: "Then I'll have to trouble Commander Feng. I wonder what kind of cakes His Highness likes? That way I can prepare them next time."
As she spoke, she handed the pastry box in her hand to Feng Yue.
Feng Yue took it and bowed his head, saying, "Reporting to Consort Shen, the prince didn't mention this."
Su Mowan yawned from the side: "Now that someone has delivered the pastries, Consort Shen can rest assured, right? Commander Feng, lead the way."
Shen Muyue gritted her teeth.
"Su Mowan, this one—"
She glanced at the guards standing nearby, then angrily flicked her sleeve and walked away unwillingly.
Su Mowan arrived at the flower hall and found a chair to sit down.
"Go tell the prince that I'm waiting in the flower hall."
A hint of surprise flashed in Feng Yue's eyes: "Then please wait a moment, Consort Su."
In the study, Murong Jing paused, his hand still holding the pen.
"She wants me to go to the flower hall?"
"Consort Su said she couldn't come into the study, so she's waiting for you in the flower hall."
Feng Yue's palms were sweating. He had to admit, Consort Su was indeed very bold!
Murong Jing placed the wolf-hair brush in his hand on the inkstone and said coldly, "Women are such a hassle!"
In the flower hall, Su Mowan leaned lazily back in her chair, enjoying a cup of tea.
Suddenly, a cold voice rang out: "Where is Fu Rong!"
He immediately spat out a mouthful of tea.
Su Mowan coughed a few times before she could catch her breath. When she looked up, she saw Murong Jing with a dark face. She gave an awkward smile, quickly sat up straight, and put down her cup: "Your Highness summoned me here. What is it about?"
Murong Jing asked coldly, "What are your plans for returning to your parents' home tomorrow?"
Guining? Isn't that the same as returning to one's parents' home?
Su Mowan's eyes flashed.
"I have no plans, Your Highness. What are your plans?"
Murong Jing said displeasedly, "It is I who am asking you!"
"I really don't have any plans. It's just going back to my parents' home. The General's Mansion is in the west of the city, and there's only one road. Of course, I'll just go back along that road. What other plans could I have?"
Su Mowan was actually somewhat surprised.
She was just a concubine, or to put it bluntly, a mistress, yet she was entitled to a homecoming ceremony.
Murong Jing looked at her and narrowed his eyes.
"Since you have no plans, then I will tell you my plans. Tomorrow morning, Consort Shen and I will go to the Prime Minister's residence, and you will return to the General's residence by yourself."
Su Mowan was stunned.
"I understand, Your Highness. Please accompany Consort Shen back."
Murong Jing glanced at her calm expression and finally asked, "Don't you have anything to say?"
Su Mowan blinked and smiled, "Yes, Your Highness, have a safe journey!"
What did he want her to say? To make a scene?
Although I do feel a little resentful, not having to take a disabled person out saves her a burden.
Murong Jing coldly instructed Feng Yue to send her away.
As soon as Qinghe saw her come out, she happily skipped over: "Consort Su, you're finally out! You have no idea how dark Consort Shen's face was, it was as black as the bottom of a pot!"
Su Mowan said with a serious expression, "It's not good to gloat like this. Do you want things to get even worse?"
Qinghe chuckled.
"I don't care, I'm just happy to see Consort Shen like that!"
Su Mowan was the first to step down the stairs.
She admonished, "Well, we can be happy in private, but let's not go around being happy in front of Consort Shen, or it'll just lead to another fight. My wish is—"
Su Mowan drew out four words: "World peace."
"..."
The sixteen guards in front of the hall all twitched their lips.
"Consort Su, what does the Prince want with you?" Qinghe asked quietly.
Su Mowan immediately lost her mood.
She said coolly, "What else can I do? Go back to my parents' home!"
"Is Your Highness going to the General's Mansion with you tomorrow?!" Qinghe asked, her eyes wide with anticipation.
Su Mowan chuckled.
"You're overthinking it. He's going to the Left Prime Minister's residence with Shen Muyue."
