Chapter 62 How to Take Good Care of Your Partner
Chapter 62 How to Take Good Care of Your Partner
Linni woke up hungry. She hadn't eaten much for breakfast, and after walking for almost three hours, she'd only managed two bites of potatoes, a bite of meat, and a piece of fruit for lunch. She was a little disgusted with herself for being a picky eater, but Feng's cooking was just so awful! If she hadn't been so tired, she would have cooked something for herself before going back to sleep. Having not been hungry in a long time, Linni decided to get up and cook for herself. The yam she'd gotten that morning was good; she could stew it with meat.
As soon as he stepped out of the room, Feng came in carrying a bag of large leaves. He placed the leaves on the table, opened it, and inside were more than a dozen purplish-red fragrant fruits. Feng said proudly, "Lin, I picked these for you. Come and eat them!"
Linni's stomach was growling with hunger, but she nodded and said, "Okay!"
Feng listened to the rumbling of her stomach and glanced at the untouched food on the table. She would rather go hungry than eat what he had made! While falling into self-doubt, Feng helped Lin open the fragrant fruit and handed it to her.
Linni ate half of it before feeling a little better. She then asked Feng to sit down, saying, "Feng, you've been busy for so long. You men need to eat more meat to have strength. I'll just eat fruit!"
Feng looked at the smile on her face and said, "Okay." He sat opposite Lin Ni and ate the food he had made without changing his expression.
After he finished eating, Lin Ni instructed him to peel half a yam, chop some minced meat, mix them together, and steam them into yam and meat patties before he finally had a full meal.
She had originally planned to stew meat with Chinese yam, but then realized she didn't know how. So she made a steamed meatloaf instead, which tasted quite good. She even shared some with Feng, who said it sounded wonderful. However, she didn't see the joy of eating delicious food or the excited sparkle in Feng's eyes as he wanted more. She knew he was just a native beastman who didn't appreciate Chinese cuisine. Sharing food with Yao was much more appetizing.
Watching the setting sun, Lin Ni wondered what she could cook for Yao when he returned. But they didn't come back until it was completely dark. Lin Ni was a little worried about Yao and Ye, but also afraid Feng would overthink things, so she didn't ask him. After showering, she still hadn't seen them return, so she made herself a meat slice soup for dinner. Seeing her cook, Feng knew it wasn't to her taste. When Yao and Ye were around, Lin Ni never cooked; she would only watch or teach them. So, a little embarrassed, she said, "Lin, why don't you teach me how to cook? I'll learn carefully."
Linni smiled at him: "I can do it myself. You're so busy every day, it's rare for you to have some free time, so just rest well."
Actually, she couldn't cook at all before, only knowing how to make scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Now, she's out of options, isn't she? Her shallow cooking skills are only theoretical. She's taught Ye and Yao before, but now she's a bit reluctant to talk, so she doesn't want to teach him anymore.
After finishing dinner, I silently washed the dishes and prepared to go back to my room to sleep.
Then Ye and the others finally returned, each carrying their day's harvest, which had already been processed and only needed to be salted.
Lin Ni was wide awake and happily went to greet them: "Ye, Yao, you're back!"
Night nodded: "I'm a little dirty. I'll wash myself clean before I hug you."
Linni made way for them to go into the cave to put their things away. Suddenly, the house had two more men and two large tigers, making it quite lively. Yan had already set off to patrol the towering mountains and wouldn't be back for the next few days.
Yao washed his hands and came over to hug Lin Ni: "Did you sleep too much again this afternoon? Why are you eating so late again?"
"No, I only slept for a little while. I was planning to wait for you to come back so we could have dinner together, but you all got back too late!"
Yao patted her head: "Sorry to keep you waiting. Because there were too many orcs at the trade fair, we had to go to a more distant place to hunt."
Lin Ni tiptoed and kissed him: "You've worked hard."
Feng watched Lin Ni and Yao standing to the side, talking intimately, and felt a little envious. Then he saw Ye go to the bathroom to wash the dirty clothes that Lin Ni had put inside.
Yao and Linni chatted for a while before Yao went to take a shower. They mostly used water from the small pond next to their house, which was a major reason they chose to build their house there. Linni was very clean and always took showers, so they developed the habit of showering before bed, otherwise they were afraid she would dislike them. When Yao returned from his shower, he would refill the large water tank in the bathroom with clean water for Linni to use the next day.
Yao and Ye have always been the ones doing these things. Feng is rarely home and hasn't paid much attention before. Now, seeing everyone so busy, he realizes that he really doesn't know how to take care of Lin Ni.
Lin Ni watched them busy while combing her hair. Once they were finished, she planned to go back to her room to sleep together. Just then, Feng suddenly said, "Lin, I also want to sleep in the small room with you."
Lin Ni paused for a moment, then looked up at him: "But, I'm not feeling well right now, so I can't do 'that' with you."
Feng was a little nervous, afraid of being rejected, but he still took a step towards her and said seriously, "I know, I can stay by your side like Ye did, and I'm warm, I can hold you while we sleep, just sleeping."
Linni blushed slightly. Had he overheard what we said before going to bed? She was right, I must say.
“But,” Lin Ni wanted to say, “we can’t sleep any longer,” but glancing at the large heated kang bed, she thought it could easily fit two or three more people. “But…”
Feng persisted, saying, "I won't disturb you. I'll just stay here and listen quietly to what you're saying. If you don't call me, I won't make a sound, okay?"
His humble attitude made Linni feel a little sorry for him. She didn't know how to refuse him, but she really didn't want so many people sleeping in one room. Linni couldn't help but ask, "Feng, your female beast, with so many partners, how does she sleep at night?"
Feng pursed his lips and said, "Mother and her other companions all live in the small cave. They usually sleep in the same bed as Father. But they don't talk as much as you do every night!"
Linnie: Oh, so they don't have single rooms! She thought for a moment and then said, "But I don't like everyone living in a cave. I like having my own room. And I don't like being seen when I'm doing those things."
Feng: "I know you don't like living in caves. I want to be with you, but if you want to mate with someone else, I'll leave and won't watch you."
Lin Ni didn't know what to do, so she glanced at Yao and said, "Yao, you tell me!"
Yao glanced at Feng and said, "You can't be intimate right now, so why don't you let Feng sleep with you too?"
