Chapter 218 The Actions of the King of Macragge
Chapter 218 The Actions of the King of Macragge
The towering dome is studded with tens of thousands of sapphires, simulating the night sky of Macragge. The Chapter Master of Kargar sits on his throne, his blue power armor adorned with a golden laurel wreath, and his shoulder armor engraved with the glory of millennia of conquest.
Two royal guards stood on either side, their golden armor gleaming under the lights, their guardian spears wreathed in deadly energy. A faint incense scent filled the hall, a blend of spices specially made from the sacred Mount Terra.
A holographic projector unfolded in front of Calgar, displaying the real-time battle situation on the Vigilant Star. The Chapter Commander's gaze swept over each data point, his mind processor analyzing the information at an astonishing speed.
“Pedro did a good job,” Calga’s voice was deep and authoritative, “but he was too cautious.”
He waved his hand gently, and the holographic image switched to a strategic map of the entire star sector: "Harken's appearance is no accident; Abaddon is playing a long game."
Calgar stood up, each step causing the ground to tremble slightly: "Pass on my orders!"
- Dispatch the second squadron (200 Space Marines)
- Deploy 6 more Warhound-class Titans
- Deploy 3 Astral Legions
- Deploy a Void Fortress outside the Vigilant Star.
- Establish a rapid reaction fleet
- Set up a subspace early warning system
- Send a reconnaissance team deep into the Eye of Fear
- Activate all lurking agents
- Enhance psionic warnings.
Calga walked to the window, overlooking the bustling city of Macurag: "Remember, we must not only defend, but also take the initiative."
His words revealed the wisdom of a seasoned warband: "Whatever Abaddon wants, we'll destroy. Whatever he fears, we'll strengthen."
A guard from the Imperial Guard promptly handed over a data panel. Calga glanced at it and said, "Tell Pedro I'm giving him three months. Either completely eliminate Harken's forces, or I'll handle it myself."
As the hologram faded, Calga turned to his think tank director: "What do you think?"
“The Commander is wise,” the think tank director replied respectfully, “but the new power Harken has gained…”
Calga raised his hand to interrupt: "No matter how strong the force, it cannot defeat intelligence. Pass down the order to activate the 'Blue Flame' protocol."
Two Imperial Guards stood at attention simultaneously, their armor clanging crisply. The lights throughout the Hall of Glory suddenly turned a deep blue, symbolizing the Ultramarines' highest level of readiness.

The Karga Commander's Thunderhawk gunboat hovered above the dock, below which were twelve newly painted warships. Liquid blue flames flowed across the armor of these ships—sacred fire fuel extracted from the core of Macrag.
“The core of Project Blue Flame is complete purification,” Chief Tech Priest Warrick’s voice echoed on the data panel, his mechanical tentacles rapidly sliding across the holographic projection. “Every drop of fuel contains holy energy capable of burning through subspace rifts.”

The think tank director stood before the observation window on the bridge, when the prophetic crystal embedded in his psionic scepter suddenly burst forth with intense light. Within the crystal emerged a scene from beneath the crust of the Vigilant Planet—countless flesh and blood vessels were reconstructing themselves, forming a new chaotic altar.
………………
“Worse than expected,” Varo’s psionic message pierced directly through the warp, “Harken’s wings aren’t just for show; they’re warp engines.”
His psionic avatar suddenly appeared in Pedro's command center: "Chapter Commander, I need a three-hour orbital silence period. The blue flames must be precisely injected into the fissures in the Earth's core."
………………
The flagship of Lord Macurag, "Eternal Glory," is undergoing final preparations:
- Guard Formation:
- Two Imperial Guards (carrying forbidden laws bestowed by the Emperor)
- Silent Sisters Squad x1 (carrying the Black Stone Cage)
- Honor Guard x30 (wearing Terminator armor)
- Special Equipment:
- Primarch Sword Replica (Sealed)
- Star God Fragment Stabilizer
- Terra Chronicles Holographic Think Tank
As the engines started, the blue flames flowing from the ship's hull traced sacred paths through the air. Calgar stood before the observation deck, the elongated shadows of two royal guards projected onto the bulkhead by the blue flames, resembling the two-headed eagles of ancient legend.
Father Warrick's mechanical eye suddenly flashed with sparks: "Warning! Contact between the blue flame and warp energy may trigger..."
“I know the risks,” Calga interrupted, “but some flames are meant to burn until the very end.” He touched the Macragge emblem on his power sword, the blue flames reflecting off the blade dancing in his eyes.
………………
Vice Admiral Jill stood on the bridge of the flagship HMS Emperor's Wrath, his uniform crisp and his medals flashing under the warning lights. On the holographic tactical map, countless red dots were closing in.
“Report the situation!” Jill’s voice remained calm.
"Subspace fluctuations detected!" The sensor officer's voice trembled. "It's...it's the Khorne Vanguard Fleet!"
Harken's vanguard fleet leaped from the warp rifts, their hulls covered in crimson flesh armor, their cannons spewing burning skulls. This fleet consisted primarily of the following:
- Flagship "Bloodslayer" (Battleship class)
- 12 Skullreaper-class cruisers
- 24 Flesh Hunter-class destroyers
- Countless assault boats
The "Emperor's Wrath" opened fire first, its massive cannon array spewing devastating beams of light. But the Khorne warships displayed astonishing maneuverability, dodging the fire in ways that defied the laws of physics.
"They're dancing!" the artillery sergeant gritted his teeth. "These damned heretics!"
Suddenly, the bow of the "Blood Sacrifice" split open, revealing a massive cannon muzzle. A dark red energy beam tore through the void, striking the Imperial Navy's escort ship "Shield of Loyalty" directly.
"Shield failure! Hull integrity reduced to 40%!" The damage control officer's voice was filled with despair.
Jill watched as the hull of the "Shield of Loyalty" began to crumble, but he had no time to mourn. More Khorne warships were leaping out of the warp, and one particularly massive one caught his attention.
“That’s… the ‘Skull Road’?” His voice held a rare hint of unease. “Harken himself has come?”
The Imperial Wrath suddenly shuddered violently as a subspace torpedo struck its hull. Gill was thrown onto the control panel, several of his ribs broken.
"Shield strength reduced to 10%!" The tech priest's voice was mechanically calm. "Immediate retreat recommended!"
"Retreat?" Jill struggled to her feet. "Saint Night Star is right behind us! All ships, attack! Target: Skull Road!"
The "Emperor's Wrath" charged forward, trailing a plume of plasma leakage, followed closely by two escort ships, forming a sharp arrowhead.
"Distance to target: 1000 kilometers!" the navigator reported. "Entering the optimal firing range of the macro gun!"
"Fire!" Jill roared.
Twenty-four cannons roared simultaneously, their shells hurtling towards the "Skull Road" at near-light speed. But just as the shells were about to hit, a strange energy barrier suddenly appeared, deflecting all the shells.
“That’s… a warp shield?” the Tech Priest exclaimed incredulously. “That’s impossible!”
Suddenly, the bow of the "Path of the Skull" cracked open, revealing a massive vortex-shaped device. The surrounding void began to distort, and even starlight was sucked into that terrifying vortex.
"Warning! Subspace tear detected!" the sensor officer screamed. "Immediate evacuation recommended!"
Jill watched the ever-expanding void rift on the hologram, knowing this battle was lost. He took a deep breath and gave the final order: "All units, immediately retreat to orbit around Saint Night Star. We'll be waiting for them on the ground!"
As the Imperial Navy fleet began its retreat, Jill took one last look at the "Path of Skulls." He knew the real battle was just beginning.
