Chapter 507: The Arrival

When the horse carriage got out from the city and headed toward the direction of Hong Feng, a small crowd gathered before they dispersed with their hands covering their mouths and noses.

Lin Xuan Qi saw what they were crowding around for and it wasn’t a pleasant sight.

A familiar figure lay by the side of the road with his limbs fractured and his body covered in a dark crimson.

Long Kong who was trying to set up his own sect was now dead.

Lin Xuan Qi sighed and shook his head at the sight.

Being a cultivator has its risks and trying to break away from where you came from was an even bigger risk.

"Good news?" Xue Cong who was seated and having her tea frowned and asked.

She had been dealing with the young masters coming over trying to meet with Lin Xuan Qi for the past day and she was starting to get annoyed with them.

But this time, Xiu shook her head and said, "I think you will be very happy after hearing it."

Xue Cong shook her head at Xiu and said, "Stop the suspense and tell me."

Xiu shrugged and said, "Master Lin is back and he is at the gate now."

"Really? Xuan Qi is back." Xue Cong stood up and she quickly headed towards the gate.

"Mistress Xue Cong, wait for me!" Xiu scrambled and helped Xue Cong step over the door steps. If anything happened to Xue Cong, she would be in deep trouble.

"I’m fine." Xue Cong shook her head at Xiu and said.

She was feeling fine so far and it was the same for Yue Xin.

And when she got to the gate, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi were also there.

Lin Xuan Qi raised an eyebrow at them when he saw them being so happy to see him again.

He tilted his head and exclaimed, "I’ve only been away for about two days...

"I guess all of you miss my handsome face and presence a lot huh."

Xue Cong and the others wanted to roll their eyes at him, but they were used to his boastfulness by now.

"It’s cold out here, let’s talk inside." Xue Cong said and she glanced over at the guards, "All of you too, go and have a good meal before taking a rest."

"Thanks, Mistress Xue Cong." The guards cupped their hands at her and they headed towards their dining area.

"Is it me or are you getting more motherly?" Lin Xuan Qi narrowed his eyes at her and rubbed his chin.

Xue Cong shook her head at him and said, "What do you mean? I’ve always been like this."

"Fine, enough of the teasing. Here..." He held up his hand that was holding the desserts and snacks he had bought from Bian Jing.

"I miss the snacks from Bian Jing." Yue Xin’s eyes opened wide when she saw the desserts and snacks.

Yue Jie frowned and said, "Go easy on those..."

Yue Xin sighed and lowered her head when she heard her sister.

She twitched her mouth while she glanced at her flat belly.

"It should be fine." Lin Xuan Qi said and Yue Xin’s lips turned into a smile immediately.

They got to the main hall and Xiu had already poured the tea for everyone.

"I’ll inform Auntie Sue to prepare for lunch." She said and walked towards the kitchen.

Lin Xuan Qi sat down in his favorite seat looking out towards the gates of the mansion and had a sip of the tea.

"How was your trip?" Yue Jie sat down beside him and asked.

Yue Xin, after taking her seat, started to munch on the snacks that Lin Xuan Qi had given her.

Liu Shi Shi sat quietly by the side as usual.

"The trip went well, other than the house being dusty, the retail shop’s business is going very well.

"We might have to increase the production for the soap too.

"But it will have to wait until I get the franchise business going."

Xue Cong, who was sitting beside him on the other side, sighed and said, "There were many young masters coming here every day while you were gone, trying to get to know you.

"I’ve told them to come back some other time."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "Thanks. Keep doing so for the time being.

"I will need to make sure that things go well for Sima Long, Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun first.

"And after that, I have to make it work for Old Heng and the others."

Xue Cong and Yue Jie nodded their heads, wishing that they would be able to help him.

But they were already tied up with managing the mansion and the budget respectively.

They could only try their best and not mess it up for him with their current responsibilities.

Lin Xuan Qi saw their faces with concern and said, "Don’t worry too much about it, I can deal with it."

And it showed with what he had accomplished so far.

Other than some of the servants catching a cold from the cold weather, there wasn’t anything that was too much of a concern for Lin Xuan Qi.
