The Great Doctor Girl

Chapter 135: Nianqing's sincere defense of justice

Chapter 135: Nianqing's sincere defense of justice

"Mr. Chen? Which unit are you from? Do you have a pass?"

Huang Junze did not answer. The guards looked at each other and finally decided to report his request.

Ten minutes later, a thin but imposing old man emerged from the building. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, and his first words were scrutinizing: "Huang Junze? What are you doing here?"

Huang Junze looked at the energetic old man in front of him, took a deep breath, suppressed his uneasiness and anxiety, and said directly: "What happened to the mission that Luo Shu participated in? Why haven't you heard from him in three days?"

Elder Chen frowned. "She is carrying out an important mission. The confidentiality level is very high. You have no right to ask."

"I don't want to know the mission!" Huang Junze raised his voice, his face filled with anxiety, his eyes slightly red. "I just want to know if she's safe and if anything happened to her!"

Elder Chen's eyes darkened instantly. Seeing Huang Junze's face full of worry and anxiety, he was silent for a moment and then said slowly, "She's fine now. Be patient. This is all I can tell you."

Huang Junze clenched his teeth upon hearing this, anger boiling in his heart. He clenched his hands tightly at his sides, his nails digging into his palms.

This answer was far from what he wanted, but he knew that he was powerless to refute it in front of Mr. Chen.

He turned and went to the Capital Security Bureau. If this way didn't work, he would try another one.

Relying on his connections, he got the green light all the way and knocked on the door of the director's office.

When he entered, the director of the Capital Security Bureau was concentrating on reviewing documents. Huang Junze rushed in, his body covered in frost and surging anger. Before the assistant who opened the door could even ask who he was, Huang Junze's eyes were as sharp as a falcon, and the moment he spoke, his voice seemed to be shrouded in ice and thunder: "Where is Luo Shu?"

The director shuddered with shock, his pen dropping with a click. He looked up and saw who was coming. His expression tensed at first, then he realized that this "king" of Ancheng's business community had come to "import someone important." He quickly put on a smile, but the smile seemed rather forced under his nervousness. "Boss Huang, calm down first. This matter involves confidentiality..."

Huang Junze ignored him. He took a step forward and slammed his hands on the table, sending documents flying everywhere. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his eyes seemed to burn through the other person. "Secret? Luo Shu has been out with you for three days and there's been no news! If you don't give me an explanation today, no one in Ancheng will be able to sleep peacefully!"

The director was oppressed by this momentum and broke out in a cold sweat. After weighing the pros and cons again and again, he leaned closer, lowered his voice, and hurriedly uttered "Nanshan Devil Cry Valley".

Huang Junze was very sharp-minded. He understood what he meant as soon as he heard it. He immediately summoned a team of elite bodyguards and rushed to the Ghost Cry Valley in Nanshan like an arrow.

When we arrived, the valley was gloomy and I happened to see Zhen Lingyue carrying me, who was weak and unconscious, out of the light gate.

Huang Junze's eyes narrowed suddenly, and he rushed forward, snatched me away, and hugged me tightly in his arms. His eyes were full of heartache and resentment. He glared at Zhen Lingyue and roared, "What did you do to her?"

Zhen Lingyue's expression was solemn and full of respect: "She has just completed an extremely difficult and significant task. She has exhausted all her energy and is in urgent need of rest."

Huang Junze snorted coldly, hugged me tightly, turned around and walked away quickly, saying as he walked: "If anything happens to her, this matter is not over!" After that, he hurriedly took me to the car, drove away, and headed straight for Ancheng.

Zhen Lingyue stood there for a long time, looking at the receding car. The solemnity in his expression gradually faded away, and what remained was his sincere admiration for me.

Recalling the time in the woods, the power from another world was like a surging tide, impacting the defense line again and again. I always stood firm in front of the formation, with a resolute gaze and constantly changing the spells in my hands. Even though my back was soaked with sweat, my strength was gradually failing, and my steps were a little staggering, I never had the slightest intention of retreating.

That fighting spirit was deeply imprinted in his heart. "A woman like this is hard to find in this world," he murmured to himself, a soft affection growing in his heart.

I was sitting in the car, looking through the rearview mirror and saw Zhen Lingyue still standing there, watching us go away.

I could clearly see the respect hidden in his solemn expression, and I couldn't help but feel a complicated feeling in my heart.

There was the relief after completing the mission, the helplessness of being extremely weak, and even more so the touching respect for Zhen Lingyue.

Looking back on those days, every minute and every second of carrying out that arduous task was torture, and I was exhausted both physically and mentally, but I gritted my teeth and carried it through.

Now slumped in my seat, the feeling of weakness still envelops me like a tide.

Huang Junze held my hand tightly all the way, and his anxiety and worry passed through his palm, warming me.

And Zhen Lingyue's words, "She has just completed an extremely difficult and meaningful task, which has exhausted her energy and she is in urgent need of rest," were full of consideration for me, and there was no trace of false admiration in his words.

In fact, when I first met him, I thought he was a cold-hearted person. After dealing with him more, I realized that he was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.

After this incident, I seemed to be able to sense a different feeling brewing in the look in his eyes when he looked at me.

The car was so quiet that only the low hum of the engine could be heard. Huang Junze kept holding my hand, his palm burning, as if he wanted to make sure that I was still alive and sitting next to him.

"Are you hurt? Does it still hurt?" He asked in a low voice, his tone filled with caution and even reproach. "Why do you always fight so hard? Don't you even care about your life?"

I turned to look at him, my eyes filled with fatigue but mostly relief, my voice so soft it was almost inaudible: "Because I know that if I don't fight hard, many people may lose their future."

Huang Junze fell silent, his jawline tense, his eyes fixed on the scenery passing by outside the car window, but the scenery was obviously not in his eyes.

He tightened his grip on my hand, as if trying to tie me down to safety. He uttered through gritted teeth, "I understand what you're saying. Serving your country, shouldering your mission. How have you gotten through all these years? It was fine without me before, but now that I'm here, I don't want to see you in danger again."

The silence in the car extended along the journey. I leaned back in the seat, feeling weak all the time, but my mind never stopped.

Thinking about going home soon and facing my mother's concern and Huang Junze's "revenge", my heart felt as nervous as being tickled by a kitten.

Familiar street scenes flashed by outside the window, and the warmth and stability of the past at home emerged. I remembered that this mission was a life-or-death mission. I was afraid that they would see the fear and thrill of it. I was even more afraid that my mother would cry and Huang Junze would get angry.

The car sped along and he didn't say anything, but the oppressive atmosphere filled the car.

When we got home, parked the car and opened the door, he turned his head to look at me, his eyes full of worry and helplessness, and said in a low voice: "Come in first, take good care of yourself, we are not over this yet, don't scare me like this again." His eyes were full of struggle. He knew that I had a mission to fulfill, but it was difficult for him to let go of the thrilling experience I had just experienced.

As soon as the car stopped, the door of our house was hurriedly opened, and my mother came to greet me quickly. She glanced at my pale face, her eyes full of worry: "You kid, why didn't you tell me where you were going these days? Look at what you have become!"

I forced a smile and was about to explain when Huang Junze spoke first, "Mom, she completed something very important, a state secret. But she's really weak and needs to rest."

Mom was stunned for a moment, then her expression became complicated. She took my hand and looked me up and down, half reproachfully and half distressedly saying, "You, when will you let me rest easy? I knew you must have done something desperate again."

I held her hand and comforted her softly, "Mom, I'm fine, really. This matter is of great significance, I have to do it."

Mom sighed, and seeing how weak I was, she didn't ask any more questions. She raised her hand and gently stroked my forehead, saying softly, "Luo Shu, you've learned so many skills. I hope you can protect yourself, but I don't want you to risk your life. No matter how important things are, they are not as important as you. Do you understand?"

I nodded, held her hand, and felt the familiar warmth.

Although her tone was gentle, I knew she must still be worried inside.

Huang Junze stood aside, silently watching us mother and daughter, and suddenly said, "Mom, I will take good care of her. If she wants to do something like this again in the future, don't worry, I will definitely stop her."

His mother glared at him and said half-jokingly, "If you can really stop her, I, as your mother, have to thank you." After that, she turned around to prepare the medicine. "Don't say anything, let's nourish her body first, and we can deal with other things after she recovers!"

Huang Junze and I looked at each other, and a hint of relief and peace of mind flashed in his eyes.

I finally leaned back on the sofa, let down all my defenses, and felt the love and companionship from my family. A long-lost peace surrounded me.

Huang Junze answered a phone call and turned to me and said, "You take a break first. I'm going to the study to handle an urgent meeting and will be back soon."

In the quiet of the room, I finally sorted out my thoughts of the past few days by myself.

My mother’s concern warmed my heart, and Huang Junze’s silent protection made me feel an unprecedented sense of security.

Although the mission has been completed, a new expectation seems to have been planted in a corner of my heart, perhaps it is the hope for a better future, or perhaps it is the subtle touch of some emotion.

A few days later, I finally recovered a lot and my complexion gradually became rosy. One day, my mother came into my room with a bowl of stewed ginseng soup and sat by the bed, her eyes complicated, full of words that she wanted to say but hesitated.

"Luoshu, I've been so rushed through these past few days that I haven't asked you in detail. What exactly did you go through this time?" Mom asked softly, her tone thick with concern and a hint of unease. She took my hand and gently stroked it, as if trying to discern the perilous past through the contact. Her fingers trembled slightly, betraying her inner nervousness.

I hesitated, then took the bowl of soup and took a sip to moisten my throat. After setting the bowl down, I took her hand in both and patted it gently. "Mom, this mission is very special and important." I looked her straight in the eye, my gaze sincere. "Although the process is indeed dangerous, the end result is worth it. The country needs people like me."

As I spoke, I placed my other hand on the back of her hand and squeezed it gently to comfort her.
