Chapter 11 From Silence to Noise

Chapter 11 From Silence to Noise

The night was deep, the starlight dimming among the skyscrapers of Manhattan. The entire city seemed immersed in the hustle and bustle of feasting and revelry. Chen Shuo calmly walked through the lobby of a hotel, his heart filled with focus and sternness for the upcoming action.

This hotel was exactly where Dixon was staying. Compared to the bustle of the day, the hotel seemed even quieter and more solemn at night. But this tranquility was only superficial. Chen Shuo knew that the security here was tighter than anywhere else he had encountered before.

Chen Shuo easily circumvented the main security patrols by following a hidden employee passage. After using a jammer to disable the elevator's cameras, he slid into the elevator and pressed the button for the fifth floor. His brief time inside the elevator left Chen Shuo's nerves tense, each breath a breath of death. He knew he had to complete everything he was about to do as quickly as possible, or else he would be discovered by security and find himself in a precarious position.

The elevator's "ding" as it reached the fifth floor was incredibly crisp. Chen Shuo, appearing harmless, advanced silently along a corridor hidden from surveillance cameras. He was already familiar with every security detail and surveillance camera angle in the hotel.

"Room on the left, Dixon." He said silently in his mind, his eyes revealing a hint of cold determination.

Dixon was ostensibly an upright congressman, but in reality, he was a man of countless crimes. Such a man cherished his life above all else. He employed a group of murderous bodyguards to protect this bastard, stained with sin. Perhaps he was enjoying a false sense of security, completely unaware that death was approaching quietly.

Chen Shuo paused outside Dixon's room, gently lowered a small signal jammer, and inserted it into the crack of the door. Then, deftly, he took out his tool and silently opened the electronic lock. All this took only a few seconds. The door unlocked silently, and Chen Shuo slipped into the room like a ghost, closing the door behind him.

The room was a typical luxury hotel suite, with large windows overlooking the Manhattan skyline at night. It was completely silent. Dixon hadn't returned yet, and his men hadn't yet gone to sleep. Chen Shuo quickly inspected the area, confirming there were no hidden security devices. He found a secluded corner with a clear view and drew his Eagle Claw knife.

Time slowly passed, and heavy footsteps could be heard faintly outside the room. Chen Shuo's eyes flashed, knowing his target was approaching. Sure enough, within a minute, the door to the room opened, and Dixon walked in with two burly bodyguards.

"Tonight's speech was such a waste of time!" Dixon complained angrily. As he untied his tie, he directed his men, "Stay outside and don't let anyone disturb me."

Although the two bodyguards had blank expressions on their faces, they were obviously used to his rough orders. They immediately left the room and stood guard at the door.

As soon as the door closed, Dixon breathed a sigh of relief, threw his coat on the sofa, and walked straight to the wine cabinet in the room. He poured a glass of wine while cursing under his breath.

However, Dixon's relief lasted only a few seconds. Just as he raised the glass to his lips, Chen Shuo emerged from the darkness silently like a ghost, the sharp blade in his hand slicing through the air, heading straight for the back of Dixon's neck.

"Puff!" With a light sound, the sound of the blade cutting into the flesh almost merged with the sound of breathing.

Dixon's eyes widened, and the wine glass slipped from his hand with a soft, shattering sound. He instinctively wanted to scream, but Chen Shuo quickly covered his mouth with his hand. With a twist of his wrist, the blade precisely severed his trachea and artery. Blood splattered instantly, staining the carpet red.

Dixon didn't even have a chance to struggle. His body quickly fell to the ground and his life was completely ended in just a few seconds.

"Mission accomplished." Chen Shuo murmured softly, looking calmly at Dixon lying in a pool of blood.

He quickly gathered up his dagger and prepared to retreat. However, at that moment, a woman's laughter suddenly came from outside the room. Chen Shuo's face changed slightly. This was not in his plan.

"Dixon baby, I'm coming!" The woman's voice became clearer with the sound of her high heels.

Chen Shuo made a quick decision and leaped towards the window like an arrow, intending to escape through it. However, before he could make a move, the door was pushed open, and a sexy blonde woman in a red evening gown walked in.

When she saw Dixon's body lying on the ground, she screamed, "Ahhh! Murder!"

Chen Shuo thought something was wrong and quickly retreated, but the woman's scream had already attracted the attention of the bodyguards outside. He heard hurried footsteps outside, and it was obvious that Dixon's men had rushed over.

"Damn it!" Chen Shuo cursed softly, turned around and kicked the woman unconscious, his eyes turned cold.

He knew the situation was out of control and his only option was to escape from the roof. Chen Shuo quickly opened the window, but at that moment, the door was suddenly thrown open and three heavily armed bodyguards rushed in, guns in hand, pointing directly at Chen Shuo.

"Mr. Dixon! Bastard! Kill him!" the leading bodyguard roared and raised his gun to shoot.

Chen Shuo's body was as agile as a leopard, and he dodged quickly. The moment the gunshot rang out, he had already rolled into the corner of the room and threw a desk lamp at the bodyguards to disrupt their vision.

"Boom! Boom!"

The bullet hit the wall, sparks flying everywhere. Chen Shuo leaped up, nimbly rolling off the ground, pulling out the Remington shotgun from his waist, aiming at the nearest bodyguard and pulling the trigger without hesitation.

"boom!"

The gunshot was deafening, and the bodyguard's chest was instantly blown open, blood splattered everywhere. The whole person was hit against the wall by the recoil of the bullet, and then slowly slid down.

The remaining two bodyguards did not retreat because of the tragic death of their companion. They continued to rush forward, drew their guns, pointed them at Chen Shuo and fired decisively.

However, Chen Shuo was quicker than them. He dodged the bullet with a roll and fired back accurately with his pistol. The bullet penetrated the forehead of a bodyguard and killed him directly. The other bodyguard was furious and immediately fired back, but Chen Shuo had already rolled over and hid behind the sofa.

The bodyguard's bullets hit the sofa and the wall, making a dull sound. Chen Shuo didn't give him any chance. He quickly circled behind him from the side, kicked his pistol away, and then punched him hard in the face, knocking him to the ground.

After dealing with the three bodyguards, Chen Shuo quickly walked out of the room. He knew that the hotel's security system must have received the alarm signal and more bodyguards and security personnel were on the way.

"Damn it!" he whispered through gritted teeth, a hint of anxiety flashing in his eyes.

There was no time left. Chen Shuo decisively decided to change his route and escape from the rooftop. He quickly rushed into the hotel's emergency exit and sprinted up the stairs to the rooftop.

Meanwhile, Mao Lilan stood there in horror, staring at the man in front of her. His eyes were cold, as if he was examining her. She nervously grasped her handkerchief, her heart beating faster, and the image of the "Japanese killer" the driver had mentioned involuntarily emerged in her mind.

"You... who are you?" Ran Mouri's voice trembled a little.

The man didn't answer immediately. Instead, he looked at her silently, as if he was thinking about something. After a moment, he suddenly spoke in a low voice: "Have you ever seen a Japanese man with dyed silver hair and a beard?"

Mao Lilan was stunned, obviously not expecting him to ask this question. She thought carefully and realized that she hadn't seen anyone who fit this description recently. She shook her head and said, "No... Why are you asking this?"

The man's expression remained unchanged, still cold. He didn't directly answer Mao Lilan's question, but continued, "This man is a wanted murderer by the police. He is very dangerous. If you encounter him, do not approach him. Leave immediately."

Although Mao Lilan felt nervous, she was also a little confused: "Who are you? Why are you asking me this?"

The man did not answer, but just looked around with a cautious look on his face. Then he walked forward, gently grabbed Mao Li Ran's wrist, and wanted to take her away from here.

"This place is not safe. The Japanese killer may be nearby. It's dangerous for you to be here alone. Leave quickly." Although his tone was still cold and hard, it revealed a sense of unquestionable command.

Mao Lilan subconsciously broke free from his hand, her eyes determined: "I can't leave, my handkerchief is still on the roof, I want to get it back."

The man frowned, clearly not expecting Ran to reject his suggestion over a handkerchief. He paused briefly, as if considering how to persuade her. But seeing Ran's stubborn expression, he ultimately gave up trying to persuade her. Instead, he said coldly, "This is your choice. If you insist on staying here, you will have to bear the consequences."

After saying that, the man turned and was about to leave. Mao Lilan looked at his back and felt a strange feeling in her heart. Although he looked cold and ruthless, he seemed to have no ill intentions and even seemed to be protecting her. But at this moment, she only wanted to get her handkerchief back and had no time to think about anything else.

"Wait a minute!" she suddenly called out to the man.

The man stopped and tilted his head slightly, with a hint of impatience in his eyes.

"That murderer..." Mao Lilan hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Is he really nearby?"

The man turned his head, his eyes deep and calm: "Yes, he is like a ghost and may appear at any time. I advise you not to take unnecessary risks." After he said that, he took a step and disappeared into the darkness.

Mao Lilan watched him leave, feeling a strange sense of unease, but she took a deep breath and looked up at the rooftop. The handkerchief was hanging on the railing not far away; she could just go up and get it. She told herself that as long as she was quick, everything would be fine. Then she walked into the building.

But... the anxious Ran Mao Li did not notice the loud noises similar to firecrackers coming from the building, nor did she notice the bloodstains under her feet.
