Chapter 218 The battle begins

Chapter 218 The battle begins

Inside the Sands Hotel.

Inside the hotel, the once magnificent décor has now been completely torn apart, turning it into a mess.

The golden marble floor was stained with blood, broken glass was scattered all over the ground, the chandelier was crumbling, and the air was filled with the smell of smoke and gunpowder.

This is no longer a luxury hotel in Singapore, but a battlefield where life and death are fought.

Chen Shuo looked around calmly. He leaned against a solid wall, holding the AR-15 tightly in his hand, his eyes flashing, ready to face any sudden enemy at any time.

Xiao Ai stood beside him. Although she was only seven years old, her eyes did not waver at all and remained clear and calm.

She followed Chen Shuo closely, with silent trust in her heart, relying on this person who could protect her in times of crisis.

"Keep calm and follow me."

Chen Shuo whispered the order, his tone steady and forceful.

Xiao Ai nodded. Although she couldn't help Chen Shuo, she would never hold him back.

"Da da da!"

Rapid gunfire was heard in the corridor, and bullets flew through the air, hitting the wall with a dull sound.

Chen Shuo frowned slightly, and quickly determined the enemy's location in his mind. In a small office not far away, four militants were lying behind a bunker, aiming at their position.

"protect yourself."

Chen Shuo whispered to Xiao Ai, quickly pulled up the AR-15, and calmly took aim.

Xiao Ai stood far away, staring at Chen Shuo.

She knew that the only thing she could do now was to keep quiet and try not to disturb Chen Shuo's actions.

Chen Shuo's movements were swift and precise. Like a cheetah, he quickly crossed behind a cover.

Without any unnecessary movements, the muzzle of the gun was aimed at the enemy in an instant. Almost before the enemy could react, gunshots rang out, and four bullets accurately hit the enemy's vital points, and the two militants fell to the ground.

He did not stop, but continued to crawl forward, and before the enemy could change position, he quickly dodged to another position.

The sounds of explosions and gunfire all around filled his eardrums, but Chen Shuo's expression remained calm, his eyes constantly scanning any place where the enemy might appear, his movements smooth as flowing water.

Xiao Ai still stood there quietly, her eyes full of tension and worry, but she didn't say a word at all. She just took a few cautious steps towards Chen Shuo.

"Cleaned up."

Chen Shuo said in a low voice, there was no trace of complacency on his face, only calmness and alertness.

He scanned his surroundings, making sure he hadn't missed any enemies.

However, at this moment, there was a violent vibration coming from the elevator entrance in the distance.

The gunshots were getting closer and closer, and the enemy didn't seem to intend to let them go easily.

"We have to keep moving forward. Be prepared, the trouble is not over yet."

Chen Shuo reached out and patted Xiao Ai's shoulder, then turned around and pulled up the AR-15 again.

He didn't say much, but just took her quickly through an empty hall.

With every step he took, his heartbeat quickened, and with every pause he could feel the growing tension in the air.

---

Inside the Sands Hotel, the night is deep.

The room was completely silent; the low hum of the air conditioner and the distant explosions and gunfire outside intertwined into an eerie harmony.

Chen Shuo stood in the middle of the room, staring at the door vigilantly, his back against the wall, as if he had already merged into this space.

His eyes were still sharp, and he captured every movement.

Holding the AR-15 in his hand, he adjusted his position from time to time to ensure that he could react in an instant.

Xiao Ai sat in a corner of the room, her legs bent, her knees pressed against her chest, her eyes occasionally glancing at the corpse lying on the ground.

The corpse was well-equipped and wearing what appeared to be combat uniforms of some special forces. The rifle in his hand was not an ordinary civilian weapon, but seemed to be equipped by professional soldiers of a certain country.

"Is this the quality of pirates nowadays?"

Xiao Ai muttered softly, her tone full of surprise. She looked down at the corpse on the ground, her eyes unconsciously filled with a hint of uneasiness.

"You can even say they're American soldiers."

Chen Shuo frowned slightly, still holding his weapon tightly, and scanned the room vigilantly.

He didn't answer immediately, but thought for a moment and looked back at Ai.

"Obviously not. Judging by their coordination, they don't look like ordinary pirates. They're more like specially trained professional soldiers. Someone might have orchestrated all this under the guise of pirates. The target is clear: us!"

He slowed his breathing and frowned, as if he had realized that a more complicated situation was gradually unfolding.

The enemy doesn't seem to be just trying to steal supplies or money, but has a deeper purpose.

Xiao Ai narrowed her eyes slightly, her mind as calm as water.

She quickly glanced around, her fingers flicking the phone as she whispered.

"However, the Eugene Lim mentioned by Edogawa is indeed a famous pirate. At least in intelligence, he is quite famous."

"do not know."

Chen Shuo shook his head, a slight sneer appearing on the corner of his mouth.

"Wait a little longer, we have to wait for more information."

Chen Shuo said this in a deep voice, but he felt a little uneasy in his heart. His intuition told him that tonight's operation was far more complicated than he had expected.

At this moment, a slight noise came from outside the door, like footsteps, breaking the brief peace.

"somebody is coming."

Chen Shuo's eyes quickly focused into a sharp light, and the Glock 17 in his hand was pulled out silently.

Xiao Ai's body tensed up instantly, and she squatted down tacitly, still staying hidden behind the cover.

The next second, the door was suddenly pushed open and a dark shadow rushed in.

Without any hesitation, Chen Shuo pressed the trigger with his finger. "Bang!" A gunshot rang out, and the bullet passed through the air and hit the enemy's chest accurately.

The armed man fell to the ground instantly, his weapon slipped to the ground, and the room fell silent again.

"Cleaned up."

Chen Shuo took a deep breath and turned to look at Xiao Ai who was making a phone call, his tone still as calm as water.

"Ai, continue to contact Conan and try to integrate all the information."

Xiao Ai nodded quickly, holding the phone firmly in both hands. She pressed the call button, and the connection icon flashed on the screen, but the voice on the other end of the phone never came.

Ai frowned and felt uneasy in her heart, but she quickly regained her composure and dialed Conan's number again.

The ringing of the phone sounded particularly crisp in the silent room, but there was still no response.

Chen Shuo stood beside her, his eyes still scanning every corner of the room.

"The enemy has infiltrated here, and Conan and the others are probably also in contact with them. Ai, stay calm, we have to move on later."

Xiao Ai took a deep breath and finally looked away from the phone screen. She nodded: "Yeah, I understand."

Chen Shuo glanced at her and silently praised her in his heart, knowing that she was not just relying on him at this moment, but maintaining calmness and judgment at her own pace.

"let's go."

After Chen Shuo finished speaking, he quickly walked out of the room.

Xiao Ai followed quietly and closely behind.

---

Outside the Sands Hotel.

"Bang! Boom!"

The sound of Glock 17's gunfire poured down on the battlefield like a rainstorm. Wakasa Rumi gripped the gun handle tightly with both hands and fired rapidly at the pirates rushing towards her.

There was no emotion on her face, only endless calmness and precision.

Beside her, pirates fell one after another, their bodies bent into strange postures, and blood quickly dyed the ground red.

However, her eyes remained as cold as ice, and the Glock 17 in her hand did not stop for a moment.

"Kid! Can't you just drop that toy you're holding, you bastard? What's the point!?"

Wakasa Rumi shouted as she fired, her voice filled with rage.

Kidd, who was standing behind her, curled his lips, but still held the card gun in his hand.

He slightly turned sideways to avoid a bullet that passed by his ear and smiled bitterly.

"That's all I have! I've never killed anyone!"

"You don't really think that thing will work for you!"

Wakasa Rumi pulled the trigger again with a roar, and a bullet pierced the enemy's chest, knocking down the pirate in front.

She then fired another shot, accurately hitting the next target.

Kid glanced at the card gun in his hand, unaffected by Wakasa Rumi's scolding.

He shrugged slightly: "Okay, okay, I'll try my best."

At the same time, Conan stood straight behind the cover, his eyes stern, his hands in his pockets.

He stared coldly at the man in front of him who had been full of vigor and spirit just a few minutes ago - Leon Law.

Leon was trembling at this moment, hiding behind the cover, his hands weakly supporting his body, his eyes full of disbelief and panic.

Conan looked at Leon calmly, his eyes as sharp as a sword: "Mr. Leon, it seems you have miscalculated."

His words were calm and composed, as if he was stating an already determined fact.

A trace of fear flashed in Leon Law's eyes. His hands trembled slightly as he stared at Rishi Ramanathan who had fallen in front of him.

The person whom he once regarded as his favorite disciple had just been shot in the head by a precise bullet from Wakasa Rumi during a battle and lost his life instantly.

Richie's body lay in a pool of blood, his eyes wide open, as if he had died with his eyes open.
