Chapter 1579: The Word
Chapter 1579: The Word
Taylor furrowed his brows uninterestingly, "What’s the matter?" He asked impatiently.Although she was favored in front of his mother, he didn’t take her too seriously.
"Greetings, Prince." Julie halted before him, bowed respectfully, and said earnestly, "The Princess has something to discuss with you, please follow me to her residence."
"What matter? Can’t you relay it?" Taylor clearly lacked interest, "I’m tired, I need to rest."
The woman replied with no extra expression on her face, "It’s important, a major matter, related to you. The Princess said you must come."
Taylor tucked his hands in his pockets, raised his brows and glanced at her, sighed, "How major could it be? Is the sky going to fall?" He muttered, yet began to stride towards his mother’s palace.
"Almost." Julie followed behind him.
Taylor glanced back at her, indeed making a fuss! He truly didn’t believe the sky could fall!
Taylor quickened his pace, Julie quickened hers too, fearing he’d break his word and dash away.
The Princess’s palace was large, originally styled after a Western castle, it looked luxurious on the outside, yet was modern inside.
Catherine, who had a passion for design, improved the castle style, and the King, who doted on her, did not intervene. Her palace was the most fashionable of all.
Two large peacocks served as decorative embellishments at the entrance, beautiful and symbolically significant.
Taylor’s pace was swift, not because he was particularly anxious, he merely wished to ditch Julie.
Hoping to quickly complete meeting his mother and then return to his palace to sleep, he was accustomed to a free and easy lifestyle.
Julie, usually swift in her steps, almost couldn’t keep pace with him, but thankfully he entered the Princess’s palace, alas, this ancestor is finally found!
"Mother!! What is it?!"
Taylor charged straight in as he entered, in this maze-like luxurious house, he was familiar as he walked inside, still calling out loudly along the way, "Mother! What do you want? I’m here! Where are you?"
Guards and servants who heard his voice bowed respectfully, "Greetings, Prince!"
"Where’s my mother?" He halted his pace in a gray-white styled hall.
At this moment, the flamboyantly dressed Princess Catherine came out from a room, walking towards her son not hastily, her stern and unkind gaze fell upon him, "What’s with the noise?"
"What do you want from me?" Taylor asked directly, as if he wouldn’t come unless his mother beckoned.
This mother-son duo shared affection but also had differing views, being from two generations after all.
Catherine stood before her son, examining him with displeasure, "Always disappearing, you so dislike coming to see me?"
"It’s not that I dislike it. I just don’t want you to worry too much, I’ve grown up, I need my own freedom and space." He reiterated his needs.
"Ha, freedom?" The woman seemed to have heard a ludicrous word, actually laughed aloud, "Taylor, did I ever tell you? Since you landed in my womb, there’s no such word as freedom in your dictionary."
"That’s in your dictionary." Taylor retorted, "The first page of my dictionary is freedom."
"You..." Catherine was so angry she could burst.
Taylor asked, "Mother, what exactly did you want with me?"
"Sit." Catherine’s voice was icy, she sat down on the sofa, instructing the servants, "All of you leave."
"Yes."
Everyone bowed, then turned and left, Julie who had followed him in also turned to leave, retreating to the outside of the large entrance and closing the door behind her.
